Prof. Dr. Raghu Echempati

Short Biography

Dr. Raghu Echempati has completed his Ph.D. at the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur, India, and postdoctoral studies at University of Florida, USA. His academic career spans over 3 decades as he taught at many USA Universities and abroad, before joining the Kettering University in 1997.

At Kettering, he is professor of design and director of the Graduate Admissions Committee for mechanical engineering admissions programs. He received Fulbright scholar award two times and the Erskine Scholar award to teach at the University of Canterbury in NZ. He is an active applied researcher and a reviewer of many professional organizations in both USA and abroad.

He has published more than 100 papers in reputed journals and peer-reviewed conference proceedings, and has been serving as an editorial board member of repute. In 2016, he organized Workshops on Vehicle Dynamics and Chassis Suspension Systems, and on Automotive Lightweighting Technologies, respectively. He has supervised over 260 (under)graduate and research student theses. He served as a professor intern at the GEMA Chrysler group (2007), the General Motors Corporation (2001), and other companies.
